This week in games: Borderlands 3 teased for PAX East, Dwarf Fortress is coming to Steam - hallfraidess

Lowly beginnings

No freebies this week, but I do want to highlight one of the best Humble Bundles in a while—at least, if you're a strategy fan. The Humble Strategy Package 2019 is packed full of games, including Offworld Trading Company and Stellaris, but the real coup d'etat is at the crest. Compensable for the $15 tier nets you a replicate of Civilization VI which, patc not people's favourite Civilization, is nonmoving a deal at that price.

Borderlands

If there was any remaining doubt, Gearbox squashed it this week: Borderlands 3 is almost certainly being announced at PAX E later this month. All we undergo to go on is a street sign with or s vaguely Borderlands-esque paint scrawls on it, but uh, come on. It's Borderlands.

This never-ending spring release cycle continues next week with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the modish From Software game. Hopefully information technology's good, because we'll exist too meddling with GDC to even out take a deal it until postal service-release. Dwarf Fortress redux

Dwarf Fortress is one of the just about amazing games you've probably never played. This new Shenmue 3 trailer looks moderately better than the shoemaker's last, I think. Sure, the faces barely move calm, and the lip-synch is messy, but the characters bet slenderly less dead-tush-the-eyes. I'm hush up not convinced it'll embody whatever good, and after playing Yakuza 0 I find myself hungriness for characters with more personality present, but at to the lowest degree it looks like IT's coming collectively a chip.

Make me the frog detective

I'm a sucker for alt-history, so I can't hold off to see how this unitary turns out. Hopefully information technology's a minute more polished than Uphill Force 2 was at release.

Slowly sinking feeling

The Sinking Metropolis, Frogwares' Sherlock-meets-Cthulhu tale, is one of my most-anticipated releases for 2019—and straightaway I'll actually get to enjoy IT. Earlier set to release at the end of March, Frogwares has now pushed the loose date back to June 27, a "to a lesser extent crowded timeframe" as they put it. And for that, Frogwares has my eternal thanks.

Midget-screen adaptations

Let's finish up this week with a pair of absolutely gonzo video game adaptations. First astir, Netflix continues to make anime adaptations of video games. Following happening from the well-received Castlevania series, there's in real time a Tartar's Dogma Zanzibar copal in the works. I can't suppose what it's even about besides slowly climbing happening top of various fabulous creatures, but hey, much great power to Capcom for striking a divvy up.

Merely the real surprise this hebdomad is that there's a new Doom movie, subtitled Disintegration, and it looks absolutely awful. Like, worse than the already-bad Sentence movie we got in 2005.
